This year’s Retail Marketing Expo 2012 was a hit! More than 1,000 people attended the one day event at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.

The highlight was the Cause Marketing Panel Lunch which included local heavy hitters like Gary Weiner of Saxon Shoes, Sarah Paxton of La Différence, Gary Glover of Puritan Cleaners and Mark Smith of Midas.

They discussed how companies can give back in more ways than just writing a check, by donating time and helping to raise money locally. The keys to successful cause marketing include finding causes one is passionate about, working to grow promotions and events and getting employees to buy into what the company is doing, the panel said.

Conscious Capitalism seems to be catching on!
